This wordpress theme ( “Mondrian Style” ) is designed by Berlin based artist Martin Missfeldt. It follows the style of the dutch painter Piet Mondrian. The Layout is structured by horizontal and vertical lines. The color scheme is clear and simple. The hole design is concentrated on basics. If you have, please follow these instructions to install this design-theme:

• Free download : Wordpress theme “Mondrian Style“ ( engl. Vers. 1.0, 39 kb, .zip )
• Download it on your computer and unzip it.
• Upload the folder “mondrian-style” in your wordpress-directory: ” wp-content/themes/” .
• Login to your Wordpress-Admin area.
• Open “Appearance” ( Navigation left )  and choose “Themes“.
• Choose “Mondrian Style” and activate it - Ready to start.

How to use / What do not

This design is friendly and sunny, but also clear and concentrated. It is really simple to use. The design is optimized for reading. So - i think - the “Mondrian Style” works well for blogs that have profound and not too short articles.

Colors

As you see this theme is based on the primary colors yellow, blue and red. The design is clear and harmoniously. The “sound” of the colors dominate. The main hex-values are:

• White: ffffff

Images

You should not use this theme if you plan to show many big and colorfull images. The best way is to use grayscale pictures. Or, if you can, use one-colored pictures - as in this example.

Headlines

This page is optimized for humans and engines. Because of this you should not use the headlines H1 and H2 if you create a new post. To give your post a semantic structure, you should only use the headlines H3 to H6.

The READ-MORE delimiter

I recommend to use the “read-more” delimiter ( in the post-format-toolbox). If you do so, your blog-homepage shows only an excerption of the posts. In my eyes this is better then showing the complete article twice. But of course you are free to decide.

Piet Mondrian ... feels like heaven

Hi. This wordpress-theme based on the style of dutch artist Piet Mondrian (1872 - 1944). He is one of the most important abstrakt painters. This theme is inspired by his awesome paintings that he did in the 1920. This posting is the testpost with all neccessary CSS-style. First of all: a picture in the text, align right. Next step some text:

Heading Tiger - this is H4

Tiger

Very important for this theme: Do not use the H1 or H2 headline. Both are reserved for the main design. The H1-Headline is on the top (with the yellow background) and the H2 is used as the main posting headline (red color background). Please give your posts a semantic structure by using the H3 and the H4 headlines. Of course you can use H5 and H6, but both looks like bold text (strong).
